Hello, I have an audio recording of an unknown language, I think it is Aramaic.
Could help me identify and translate to English.

Thank you.

It doesn't sound like Aramaic to me (absence of certain guttural sounds) May 28, 2014

Possibly some Indian language (from India) or a made-up language, Indian-sounding.
Unless the person did not pronounce the words right, of course.

Not Aramaic May 28, 2014

I speak Hebrew which has some similarity to Aramaic. I would recognize basic words in Aramaic or the general syntactic structure.

I am fairly confident this is not Aramaic.

Do you have any idea of which part of the world it is from?

So unfortunately I have no idea. Appears to be an ancient language no longer used ...

How do you know it is a real language? Jun 11, 2014

Where did you find the sound clip? It could be High Valyrian for all we know.

It's extremely unlikely to be an ancient or made-up language if someone was recorded talking and singing in it. But as Orin says, you could help us out by telling us where the recording came from. Also, why are you asking, and where did you get the idea it might be Aramaic?

Actually I got a recording of a friend, he said it was recorded in some kind of cult. So I thought it was Aramaic.
