Dear colleagues,

I'm in the middle of an investigation task, and I have to find out the name of a painter that I don't know. He must be a renowned British painter who probably made most of his work during the 20th century. Two of his most famous paintings represent a man wearing what looks like a green round helmet and a feathery or furry, black-and-white coat, and a short-haired woman sitting on a chair with her hands on her lap and wearing a flat hat and a green coat from the mili... I'm in the middle of an investigation task, and I have to find out the name of a painter that I don't know. He must be a renowned British painter who probably made most of his work during the 20th century. A Brodie helmet is a metal army helmet.
Why don't you post the pictures here?
Also, what exactly is this "investigation task"?

I never knew translators would be called upon to investigate things like this but it stands to reason really as we need to have sharp research skills to translate (I sometimes feel as though part of my job consists of detective work).
