Off topic: Irritating source words or phrases?

Some of them certainly get your index finger tapping on that mouse pad, don't they? God, you can just feel the rage rising up inside you, can't you? Before you know it, you're shouting at the microwave. Hanging up on the mother-in-law. Ringing her back and hanging up straightaway when she thinks you've rung back to apologise. Barking at the neighbour's stupid dog. Deliberately taking out a 50-euro note at the supermarket checkout, all the while defiantly jingling loads of coins in your pocket. <... See more

I had a load of them the other day, all in the same text, but can't remember any right now (and how come you can be 110% concentrated on a text for a day or so, and two days later it's like it never happened?), except one of those isolated one-worders - "Reprise", all alone in an Excel cell with zero context.


Got any 5-star guaranteed irritators?

...but I do hate it, too, when I am supposed to translate Excel cells that contain only one word and no context. >:( However, one thing that irritates the hell out of me is when a source text in Italian contains badly spelt words or phrases in English.

Now that I come to think of it, the americanism "amazing" is irritating beyond description when overused - as it is most of the time.
