Dear all, We have translated from EN to URDU several videos for a client. Our issue it that urdu is written from right to left so we don't know how to subtitle the videos. Anyone has a solution to this issue? Many thanks in advance for your replies. Or did the client ask you to provide a subtitle file? | | | Burn and subtitle | Feb 18, 2015 |
Hi Max, Actually the client has it's own system. We normally only upload the SRT files in his system and that's it, the video is subtitled. The person who normally creates the SRT files tells me that the software she uses doesn't let her cut the text and timecode it. Any idea on how to do this and with wich tool? Fabrice Please tell her to use Aegisub: http://www.aegisub.org/ This program understands Urdu.

Subtitle Workshop | Feb 18, 2015 |
Subtitle Workshop v6 has a feature for setting right-to-left languages. What I don't know is whether SRT stores this parameter anywhere, and if whatever burning software they use can handle it. However I'd be willing to bet that SSA can handle it, and that VirtualDub (with its Subtitler plugin) would burn it correctly on AVI. You can probably... SW6 does not support Unicode, and hence it does not properly display Urdu. | | | | Max Deryagin Russian Federation Local time: 10:47 Member (2013) English to Russian
