Hello.

I am using Aegisub 3.2.2 on a Mac and I can't zoom out on the audio timeline in order to have an overview. Since the zoom is too closed, the bar moves too fast and it makes it harder to time the subtitles. I have tried the bars on the right, but they do not help me solve the problem. This is pretty frustrating, since it's a simple thing that's keeping me from continuing working on a file.

Could anyone please tell me how to zoom out on the audio timeline?

Ctrl or Cmd + Mouse wheel? May 19, 2018

Hello Fernando,

In Aegisub on GNU/Linux, I can Zoom in and out with Ctrl + Mouse wheel (or the track pad equivalent - two fingers scroll on mine) while the cursor is inside the audio timeline area. On a Mac, I guess you can replace Ctrl with the Cmd key ?

There may be other ways, but I could not find any audio/zoom setting when adding a Keyboard shortcut in View>Options.

This is so annoying and I just found out it has no solution but using older version Mac OSX. Instead of Mojave, I use Yosemite in other computer.

So annoying.

EDIT: PS, command + two fingers on touchpad works.

Easy fix- hard fix May 27, 2020

I've encountered the same issue and found few fixes!

Easy fix:
Use any of Aegisub trunk builds posted here:

- I tried "06/09/18 - r8942" and "04/09/16 - r8898" versions and both fixed the issue.

Before trying the easy one, I had to do the "hard" way.

Aegisub is 3.2.2
Here's how the fix worked for me:
Before you start, make sure you close the Aegisub app.
1- go to your configuration file usually found in the "Application support" folder, so just use your Finder to Go to a folder and copy past this line
~/Library/Application Support/Aegisub/config.json

2- Open the config.json with your TextEdit app

3- Search for "Volume" inside the config file

4- Make sure you have the following parameters:
"Volume" : 100,
"Wheel Default to Zoom" : false,
"Zoom" : {
"Horizontal" : 0,
"Vertical" : 100
}

Notice that horizontal zoom is set to 0
as for the volume, I recommend you choose to make it 50 (which is set by default). It depends on how loud you want it.
BUT make sure the Vertical zoom is equivalent to the volume level to avoid issues with audio.

So my settings look like this:
"Volume" : 50,
"Wheel Default to Zoom" : false,
"Zoom" : {
"Horizontal" : 0,
"Vertical" : 50
}
