After completing a Magister(~MA)-diploma in Dutch Literature at the University of Vienna, specializing on Hugo Claus and William Faulkner, I lived in the US for six years. Since 2016 I have been translating several samples for publishers and have taken classes in literary translating with Ulrich Blumenbach, Christian Hansen, Dr. Ina Pfitzner, Rolf Erdorf and others. In 2018 I earned a scholarship from the Expertisecentrum Literair Vertalen. Two of my translations have been published.

An avid reader of novels and non-fiction in French and English, I am a professional copywriter and translator for online projects although my secret and cherished aim is to translate non fiction and fiction books preferably relating to spirituality, folklore, esotericism,or orientalism . I recently had my first literary translation (EN to FR) published "The synagogue of Satan" of Stanislaw Przybyszewski (19th century author) by an independant publisher, and I just want more...

Several years ago, I studied Theory and Practice of Translation at Utrecht University in the Netherlands. Part of this master's degree focused on literary translation, which included lectures by literary translators and attempting our own translations of literary texts. I have done some work afterwards translating David Downie's books, for example, and have also proofread translations of books by Anna Zaires.

• I'm British and have a degree in English from a fairly fancy-pants university.
• I lived in The Netherlands for 16 years, assimilating as much as I could; I love haring met uitjes, and I know what to do with a flessenlikker!
• I have a proofreading qualification from the Publishing Training Centre.
• I've translated three Dutch bestsellers into English: Het Pilgrim Fathers-complot, and Het Pauluslabyrint by Jeroen Windmeijer, and Zonder Jou by Chantal & Priscilla van Gastel.

My main work concerns the translation of Frances Gregg autobiography The Mystic Leeway. I started this work following a study of John Cowper Powys’s novels.

I also translate my own work as I am a also a writer in both French and English.

I have been working as a non-fiction translator since 2005.
My main source languages are English and French, but I also translate from German and Danish.

As a writer and a creative therapist working with the written word (automatic writing/narrative writing) I've become somewhat of a logophile. Many years of experience have enriched me with a special feeling for words. In my personal practice I work primarily with shorter texts (e.g. short stories, synopsis), but I've also worked on larger pieces such as film scripts. I approach all work with professionalism, dedication, and precision. I won't miss a letter, hand on heart.

At any given moment you can either find me reading, writing or translating. There is nothing I love more than using all my creativity and perseverance to create a target text that maintains or – at times – adds to the beauty of the original.

I studied literary translation in Spanish, Portuguese at the University of Maryland. I attended primary school in the Netherlands where my mother is originally from and was raised reading books written in Dutch as well as English and other languages. In 2008, I became a student member of American Translators Association which started my journey as a literary translator and as a freelance linguist for private sector(i.e iHeart Media, Clear Channel, Lionbridge and Transperfect for lit and ads).
