I've interpreted a lot of remarkable people in my career, many politicians including our new president-elect Dilma Roussef, a ton of CEOs and Chairpersons, some Nobel Prize winners, but I can't really say I've met them. I mean saying "Hello, my name is Maria and I'll be your interpreter today" doesn't really count, does it? That said, there are two speakers that I interpreted with great pride and joy because they rank high in my personal hall of fame: Fim maker Wim Wend... My original question was, "As an interpreter, have you ever met famous people"?, meaning for example if you have interpreted for the president of your country, or a famous movie star or singer, etc. But when I read some of the answers I see that some translators have done this too. | |

In 2000 I met some famous football players, who during that year were in force at Juventus, Milan and Lazio. 1 example: Ciro Ferrara, Pavel Nedved, Roberto Mancini and the management of Juventus team, including Roberto Bettega and Luciano Moggi.
