Urdu to English: IBLEES KI MAJLISEY SHURA (The Advisory Council of the Devil) General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Poetry & Literature
Source text - Urdu The source text poem is in Urdu, and is not visible when pasted. Anyhow, it is a famous poem, entitled IBLEES KI MAJLISEY SHURA, written by Iqbal, the national poet of Pakistan. The sample translation in the other column comprises first two sections of the poem. The translation is a fruit of meticulous endeavor, and I claim it to be of a high quality.
Translation - English The Advisory Council of the Devil
The Devil
This old game of elements , this world of articles,
Murder of the desires of that world’s residents.
Bent on destroying it is the One, the Omnipotent,
Who once had named it the world of ‘kaaf’ and ‘noon’.
I made the English dream of autocracy,
I broke the spell of mosque, temple, and church.
I taught the helpless the beguiling lesson of ‘fate’ ,
I conferred upon the wealthy the madness of capitalism.
Who can extinguish the fire that is lit by him,
In whose high flames is the ardency of the Devil?
Whose boughs, by virtue of our watering them, are sky-kissing,
Who can dare take hold of that old tree of ours?
The First Adviser
Without doubt, unflinching is this devilish system,
Which aggravated the masses’ nature of servitude .
From the day first are destined the poor folk to bow their heads,
Whose nature’s demand it is to offer a prayer devoid of upstanding .
Never can take birth the desire in the first instance,
But dies right away, or remains immature, if it does take birth.
This, today, is the fruit of our indefatigable struggle,
That servants of autocracy are both ‘soofi’ and ‘mullah’ .
This opium befitted the disposition of the Eastern,
Not less sweet, otherwise, was the recitation of Quran than ‘qawali’.
What matters if still alive is the practice of ‘tawaf’ and ‘haj’,
When rusted has been the unsheathed sword of a Muslim?

He is always extremely professional and helpful from the beginning until the end of each project. Promptness, attention to detail and respect for deadlines are just some of the main advantages of working with Salman. Let me also take the opportunity to inform the readers that I am also running a language agency (www.pak-translations.com) through which I provide high-quality services in Asian and a few European languages. Please note that this is not just another agency out there. We, at Pak Translations, are genuinely committed to quality and honesty and we strive hard to deliver top-notch services every single day. This has earned us the confidence of our clients who prefer us to other translation agencies.
The following are the main aspects of what we offer to our clients:
· High-quality translation: The translators working for the agency are well-experienced, well-educated, have years of experience, and have been selected after passing our translation tests. The result is obvious: highly accurate and fluent translations. And once a translator delivers a project, it is QA’d before delivering to the client. Of course, we are always there to respond to any post-delivery requests and queries. The outcome is that the companies we are working with are highly satisfied with our work.
·Reasonable pricing: Though we deliver quality work, it does not mean that we charge our clients a huge amount of money. Unlike many other translation agencies, our prices are very reasonable. They are simple and straightforward and do not involve any hidden costs.
· Wide range of language combinations: Please note that we do not just offer language services involving English as a source or target language. We have a number of translators for other languages too, such as Italian<>Urdu, Spanish<>Urdu, German<>Urdu, French<>Urdu, Pashto<>Arabic, and Tamil<>Arabic. As such, we can also be contacted for languages where source and target are not English.
· Blind CV's of Translators: If you consider us for a project, we can even share blind CVs of our translators for the languages required. Just recently, we have entered into a one-year contract with a medical translation company after we provided them with blind CVs that were reviewed and approved by them.
We invite you to visit our website, Proz profile, and the agency's blue board record (links are given in the signature area) to learn more about us, and if you would like to know more or have any queries (about rates, number and name of languages offered, etc.), please do not hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected] and/or send a query to [email protected] - the main agency email. Remember, we are always there for you.
Looking forward to serving you with our top-notch services.
Thank you!
