Source text - English External Beam Radiation Therapy (EBRT): With EBRT, high-energy rays are used to kill the prostate cancer cells and shrink the tumor. The equipment used is similar to an X-ray machine, and the treatment is often performed on an outpatient basis 5 days per week for several weeks. With EBRT, the risks for bladder obstruction and bladder control problems are low. In the short term, the risk for erectile dysfunction (impotence) is also low.
