Source text - English I am legend.
Death has no claim over me, illness cannot touch me. Look at me now and it would be hard to put an age upon me, and yet I was born in the Year of Our Lord 1330, more than six hundred and sev- enty years ago.
I have been many things in my time: a physician and a cook, a bookseller and a soldier, a teacher of languages and chemistry, both an officer of the law and a thief.
But before all these I was an alchemyst. I was the Alchemyst.
I was acknowledged as the greatest Alchemyst of all, sought after by kings and princes, by emperors and even the Pope himself. I could turn ordinary metal into gold, I could change common stones into precious jewels. More than this: I discovered the se- cret of Life Eternal hidden deep in a book of ancient magic.
Now my wife, Perenelle, has been kidnapped and the book stolen.
Without the book, she and I will age. Within the full cycle of the moon, we will wither and die. And if we die, then the evil we have so long fought against will triumph. The Elder R ace will re- claim this Earth again, and they will wipe humanity from the face of this planet.
But I will not go down without a fight. For I am the immortal Nicholas Flamel.

بيني وبين الموت عهد فلا يقربني.. بيني وبين المرض مسافات فلا يمسني.. انظر إليّ بعينيك الفانيتين.. لن ترى لمسات الزمن عليّ.. رغم أني ولدت في عام الرب الثلاثين بعد الألف وثلاثمائة، وعدتها ستمائة وسبعون عاما مضت من أعوام البشر.
في زمني تقمصت أشخاصا عديدين: طبيبا وطاهيا، بائع كتب وجنديا، معلما للغات وكيميائيا.. وجمعت قمة النقائض بكوني رجل قانون.. ولصا.
قبل كل هذا.. وفي الأصل.. كنت خيميائيا.. في البدء كنت الخيميائي..
عرفت بالخيميائي الأعظم في التاريخ.. لهث خلفي الملوك والأمراء والأباطرة.. بل وحتى البابا بذاته.. امتلكت القدرة على تحويل المعادن العادية إلى ذهب نفيس، والأحجار القميئة إلى كريمة.. ووصلت القمة باكتشافي سر الحياة الأبدية مخبأ في عمق كتاب سحر عتيق.
الآن.. خطفت زوجتي بيرينيل.. واختفى معها الكتاب..
دون هذا الكتاب، نشيخ أنا وهي. إن هي إلا دورة قمر واحدة فنذوى ونموت.. بموتنا ينتصر الشر الذي حاربناه لعصور.. سيعود العرق القديم لحكم الأرض وبهذا يمحى الجنس البشري عن وجه البسيطة..

Source text - Arabic ألمحها في قلب الظلمة وتنفر عضلاتي حيث جلست بمنتهى الاتزان فوقها على فرع الشجرة النحيل ... كانت غزالة صغيرة
ككل الغزلان ... فريسة لا تكفيني لكنها تكفي من يحتاجها أكثر مني ...
ارتفعت أذنا الغزالة فجأة ونظرت حولها حين هبت الريح محركة أوراق أغصان شجرة الصفصاف التي ربضت فوق غصنها ... حرصت بالطبع أن أكون عكس اتجاه الريح حتى لا تحمل رائحتي إلى أنف الغزالة ... وكان ارتفاعي سبب تفوقي عليها لأن الفريسة الغبية لا تنظر إطلاقا فوقها .. دوما حولها .. تحركت الغزالة بأقدامها النحيلة إلى حافة النبع .. بدأت تشرب وكان علي الانتظار لأن فرصتها في الهروب وعودتي الي المنزل بفرو مبتل وغيظ مكبوت كانت كبيرة...
تنبهت غزالتي لحركة يسيرة على الشاطيء الآخر والتقط بصري الحاد مصدرها .. أنثى نمر أخرى مثلي تماما تبحث عن طعام لصغارها ...
وهنا قفزت ...
تأكدت من انتصاري عندما انغرزت مخالبي في لحمها الطري ... سقطت على الأرض ولم يكن بيد المفترسة الأخرى سوى أن تكشر عن أنيابها بينما وضعت حدا لآلام الصغيرة المحتضرة تحت مخالبي وأجبتها بالتكشير عن أنيابي الدامية ... زأرت معدتي جوعا ولكن هذه الوجبة ليست لي ...
بقيت مكاني وراقبت الأنثى الأخرى ترحل بحثا عن فريسة أخرى في مكان آخر حيث أصبح من غير المحتمل أن تأتي حيوانات أخرى إلى هذا المكان حيث تقلل رائحة الدم فرص اقترابهم .. على الأقل حتى أرحل بجائزتي.
أخيرا تشممت الهواء من حولي والتقطت الجثة التي مازالت دافئة وعدت أدراجي إلى العرين .. حيث ينتظر الأشبال عودتي بشيء ما ليجربوا فيه أنيابهم حديثة الظهور ...
Translation - English I spot it in the darkness ... my muscles tighten in my perfectly
balanced crouch on the thin branch above it ... It was a doe as small as does should be ... a prey not enough for me but it was sorely needed elsewhere ...
The doe's little ears perked as she looked around her as the winds rustled the leaves of the oak tree I'm sitting on, winds blew my way as I wasn't stupid to let my scent fly to the little creature's nostrils ... Height was my superiority as stupid preys always look around ... never above .... Her thin legs moved gracefully beneath taking her to the water edge ... She started and I had to wait till she finishes as it was a high chance that she will get away and that will just add to my frustration of its escaping to go home with wet fur ...
A slight movement from the other shore startled my doe ... My keen sight spotted another animal ... A fellow female jaguar just like me seeking food for her little ones ...
It was then that I jumped ...
The victory was secured when my claws sank into the tender flesh of the animal ... It fell to the ground and there was nothing the other predator could do but stare and bare her fangs at me as I tore the thin neck and bared my bloody fangs at her in response ... My stomach growled in hunger but this was not for me ...
I remained in my spot and watched the other female leave hunting for another prey .. not likely in this place where the stench of blood was bound to chase away any potential chances of any does approaching the spot for now ... at least until I leave with my prize
Finally ... Sniffing the air around me I picked up the doe's still warm corpse and stalked my way back to my lair ... where my pups were waiting for something to try their newly appearing fangs on ...

No matter what the outer world looks like, both the fox and the magician know there is more available to them from the world they live in than what the physical eye can see. In the deep winter forests, there would appear to very little to nourish a grown Fox. By tapping into his expanded senses, the Fox is able to hear movement deep under the snow pack, and with one swift movement he can propel himself into the air. He does this with enough force that when he lands he nabs himself a nice bite to eat, fresh from under the deep, compacted snow. The Magician always refines the tools and skills he already has. He knows just how important it is to keep polishing his magic. For just like the Fox, the Magician knows that the real magic happens in the unseen – much like pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

مهما بدا العالم الخارجي حولهما، الثعلب وكذلك الساحر يوقنان أن فيه كثيرا من الأسرار الخفية عنالعين، فقد يبدو أنه في غابات الشتاء العميقة انعدام ما يمكن أن يقيم أود ثعلب بالغ حيث كل شيء مغطى بطبقة كثيفة من الثلج. وعلى الرغم من ذلك فإن ما لا يرى هو أساس غذاء ذاك الثعلب الجائع الذي يعتمد على حواسه الممتدة ليتمكن من سماع الحركة تحت طبقة الجليد المتكتلة وبحركة واحدة سريعة يقفز كالقذيفة في الهواء بقوة تمكنه من الغطس تحت الجليد لاصطياد ما تحته، طعاما شهيا طازجا يسد جوعه. أما الساحر فهو دوما ما يحسن أدواته ويطور مهاراته المتأصلة فيه ويدرك جيدا أهمية عنايته بصقل سحره لأنه تماما كما الثعلب يعرف الساحر أن السحر الحقيقي خفي وفيه أكثر من إخراج أرنب من قبعة.

غمرتها ظلمات من فوقها ظلمات من فوقها ظلمات...
وقفت في قلب البرية الجرداء مغمورة بضوء رمادي يشع بهدوء على ما حولها ... همسات ناعمة من نسيم بارد معاد كما لو كان يدفعها بعيدا ... طاردا إياها من ذاك المكان الرهيب ...
أدركت أنها ليست محل ترحيب في هذا المكان .. رغم إحساسها بأن هذا المكان مألوف إلى حد ما ... فقد كان ... ماذا كان؟
وإذ تلاشت هذه الفكرة من خاطرها تغير المشهد حولها فجأة .. وتبدلت الصحراء العارية بواحة غنّاء من نخيل يتراقص في أشعة الشمس ونسمات الهواء البارد المرحب .. ابتسامة عبرت طريقها إلى شفتيها ومشت إلى نخلة أشرفت بطولها على كل أشجار الواحة ... مشت؟ لا لم تكن تمشي .. بل كانت تسري فوق الأرض ... وتناهى إلى مسمعها صوت أطفال صغار يلعبون ويضحكون ...
وهنا رأتهم ...
ثلاثة منهم ... ثلاثة صبية كانوا يلعبون حول حفرة سوداء عميقة في الرمال .. بدت تلك الحفرة كما لو كانت بئرا ... ولكنها لم تستطع الاقتراب للتأكد .. جمَّدها الخوف والرعب مكانها ... مضى زمن وهي واقفة هناك ترقبهم .. حتى رأوها ... نظرت إلى وجوههم المتشابهة وعيونهم الرمادية المخضرة وشعرهم الأسود الناعم ... رباه كم يشبهونها ...
عرفهم قلبها وعندها تحرك جسدها خطوة واحدة ... كانت تلك الخطوة كافية لكسر سحر اللحظة إذ تراجع الصغار حول حواف الحفرة جاعلين فوهتها الفاغرة حاجزا بينها وبينهم .. ما كان في عيونهم دفء .. ما كان في عيونهم ذرة معرفة لها وعنّ لها أن تمد يدها ... مدت يدها للثلاثة الذين لم ترهم منذ أن أنقذها ذاك الرجل .. لم ترهم منذ أن أنجبت شقيقتيهم .. والآن يزورونها ... لماذا؟
هل سيأخذون صغيرها الجديد؟
وكأنما يجيبون على سؤالها نظر الثلاثة إلى الحفرة ووقفوا مرهفي السمع ... كأنما صوت لا يدركه سمعها يحدثهم ...
وفجأة ... قفز الثلاثة في الحفرة ... بلا صوت ... بلا ضجيج ...
واحدا وراء الآخر ... قفزوا إلى أعماق الهوة أمام عينيها .. ما استطاعت أن تغلقهما .. ما استطاعت أن تمد يدها إليهم لتنقذهم ... ما استطاعت حتى أن تلقي بنفسها خلفهم ... تجمد جسدها رعبا؟ فزعا؟ لا يهم ...
قفز الثلاثة وبدأت الحفرة بالانغلاق وهنا انحل قيدها ... سقطت على ركبتيها وزحفت إلى الحافة التي تتقلص بسرعة محاولة أن تمنعها من الانغلاق عليهم .. متوسلة بلا صوت أن يُسمح لها حتى برؤيتهم مرة أخيرة ...
وهنا غمرتها ظلمات من فوقها ظلمات ما لبثت أن تبددت بالضوء ...
Translation - English darkness .. darkness ... Then there was light ...
She stood in the middle of a barren terrain, dim grey light illuminated her surroundings ... soft gushes of breeze tickled her face and she grimaced ... The feel of that breeze wasn't that of welcome or love, it was something like a hand pushing her away ... Banishing her from that place ...
She wasn't welcomed here, even though she had a feeling she knew the place .. but it was different than what it is now ... It used to be ...
Suddenly the view changed, instead of the barren desert there was a sunny oasis. A tall palm tree stood over all others and there was breeze again ... cool and soft this time ... Then she saw them ...

The three boys looked alike ... She knew deep inside these were the ones she lost .. She had stopped seeing their imagined faces in her dreams since that man saved her ... Not since she had their sisters ... & now she sees them ...
They were standing in front of her ... She wanted to say something, but all she could do was reach her hands to them. They looked at her and didn't move ... for a second, and then they turned around as if something was calling them ... From the well.
One by one she watched them, horrified as they jumped into the well one by one ... and she screamed then there came the darkness again ...
darkness .. darkness ... Then there was light ...
