Bio

MEDICAL TRANSLATION - ENGLISH, RUSSIAN AND UKRAINIAN

I specialise in medical translation with primary focus on clinical studies and patient records. I provide full linguistic support at all stages of clinical development and help patients and companies to get test results and other medical records translated in a professional language that doctors understand.

  • All clinical study documents including PIS/ICFs, Protocols, Investigator's Brochures, labels and leaflets, patient cards and diaries, dosing instructions, assessment scales and questionnaires, site/sponsor/investigator agreements, DSURs and PSURs, regulatory documents and more
  • Medical test results and other medical records
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Healthcare
  • Instruments
  • Academic literature including books, research articles and conference abstracts. See the Published tab for a list of major translated titles and published translations.

Much of my workflow comes from Russian/Ukrainian to English translation of test results, medical records and personal documents for patients who seek medical care abroad and for international companies involved in clinical research.

Over the 20+ years of my full-time translation career, both freelance and in-house, I have also worked extensively in areas as diverse as life sciences, agriculture, marketing, business law, cosmetics, government and subtitling.

I have enjoyed long-standing working relationship with many leading UK, EU and US medical and non-medical translation companies and direct clients, with some of them for as long as 14 years. Letters of reference are available.

Education & linguistic background: I earned an MSc in Biology from Kyiv National University in 1999 and went on to receive an MA in Translation in 2002. This dual educational background in biology and linguistics is a unique asset that ensures a thorough understanding of both the scientific nuances and linguistic intricacies of the documents I translate. I was born, raised and trained in a bilingual Russian/Ukrainian-speaking culture in Ukraine. I speak and write in both languages as my native languages and my workflow is equally divided between projects in the English/Russian and English/Ukrainian language combinations.

Writing style: I offer human-only translations that have a professional look and feel, are thoroughly researched and proofread with attention to style and detail and ready to be published or posted online if necessary. My clients benefit from a polished, educated and pleasant-to-read writing of a trained linguist.
