Bio

I specialize in Japanese to English translation, especially anything involving computers, anime, manga, or video games. I have been studying the Japanese language on my own for approximately 20 years, with 4 years of University level study and 15 years living in Japan. I completed a one year Japanese language program at Nagoya University of Foreign Studies in Nagoya, Japan, and have completed the Clemson Language Intensive Program twice. I passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Exam (JLPT) Level 1 and have received my certification. I graduated from Clemson University in May, 2006 with a BA in Japanese and a minor in Computer Science. I am also one of GlobalWeb's (trans.globalweb.jp) top 5 recommended translators for speed and quality of translation.

I am going on 16 years of professional experience in the translation/video game industry and have worked on many high profile game titles, strategy guides, instruction manuals, and manga. I have worked on projects for everything from Nintendo DS, Sony's PSP, and Microsoft's XBOX 360 to the latest console platforms and PC/smartphone games. I have been an avid gamer my entire life, and I strongly believe that I truly understand what gamers desire in a translated title.

I have also been studying and using computers even longer than I have studied Japanese, and therefore I also specialize in the translation of anything related to computers, especially software programming, as well. My programming experience now totals 12 years and I have worked with many languages from Q-BASIC to Visual Basic, C/C++, and C#. I have worked on many localization projects as well as technical manuals for various software packages.

In addition to the above fields I also have a multitude of experience in the business and financial fields. I have translated business documents, office memorandums, compliance documents, presentations, e-mails, financial statements and more for a variety of large corporations such as Sony, Pioneer and NTT Docomo.

I have plenty of samples from my professional work available upon request. Don't hesitate to contact me. I will provide the quality and professionalism you desire in a translator!

Comments From My Clients I like your work very much.
It's impressive how quickly and how accurately you get the job done, especially with the tight deadlines we get from time to time.
Your translation is so amazing. I am always pleased to proofread your works.
I would like to say, "Thank you very much for your hard work".
Thanks for the speedy work, Brandon.
I knew this would not be able to be done by anyone else.
You seem to have the gift of jumping into the essence of the message and then trying to recreate it in English (rather than just trying to translate the words themselves).
...and many, many more!
