I don't know about other freelance jobs or other freelance translators. What I will say is that I am laid back. I need to be relaxed and focused to do my job well.

How on earth do these sorts of polls get past the strict quality and mental disorder department of ProZ?

It does not depend on one's profession at all.

At first I rejected this poll as ridiculous, but on second thought, I realize it would be difficult to be neurotic and meet the high demands of the freelance translating profession. Day in, day out, we always have to keep a cool head to meet deadlines. We have to be highly organized. We have to accept criticism graciously.

I know a couple of people I might consider "neurotic" who tried translating and couldn't cope with the demands of the profession.
