Because I just get along with the next job.

I do not need to finish a job to be happy.

Well, depends on what "project" means here. If it's "translation project", then it was kind of meh, but if it's "any project", then my interview with one of the most prominent figures in the world of subtitling went pretty great. You can read it here, if intersted: https://www.md-subs.com/interview-jorge-diaz-cintas

There were two terms in the translation which I discussed with the client. They suggested a translation for one of them, but I preferred mine. So far, they haven't got back to me, so it looks like they're happy with my version too. So, I'm satisfied.

The last project I finished left me hungry for more… It looked very much like a paid test: it was a very small, but very interesting, EN-PT marketing text on smart fabrics and wearable technology.

It was enormous and covered a wide range of topics, all related to health services for indigenous peoples throughout the Western Hemisphere. I learned so much, and I was happy to be able to make it available in English.

Right now I'm finishing another project that's even longer. The eyestrain working from tiny print in a PDF (I'll do anything if they pay me enough) is making me wonder if the money will be worth it.

Exhausted.

Working on several small projects every month, my actual perspective is that the end of a project is the end of the month...
so last month my project "August" left me Exhausted.

I worked long hours every day... and I needed 5 days without working to get back to my computer a bit more relaxed.

It had a very tight deadline and I was afraid I wasn't going to finish in time.

Do I need this? Sep 28, 2017

Telling me that I need to be registered in VIES (only after finalizing and delivery), otherwise 25 % from app. 190 EUR will be deducted (Croatia based company). I feel really great about this!

I wanted to go on holiday but my clients clearly didn't see that as important. The summer months are often busy for me as I don't really feel the need to take time off then, so I get to be a replacement for everyone. But this year I wanted to go to the UK, and you don't want to do that in the winter, do you? I was working until about midnight before the day prior to leaving, jumping up from the computer to fetch things to pack. Far too stressful at my age.... See more

I got to translate an old postcard from Swedish to English. It was written in the 1920s. Not the kind of thing you see every day! Interesting dialect and older spelling as well.

I was asked to translate an article about a designer's lifelong friendship with an art collector whom he praised to the heights and for whom he expressed his deep admiration and affection, but the odd thing was that he did not name the lady anywhere. It would have helped me to know her identity as I try to do background research on the artists and their associates often concerned by the work I translate. I googled around, trying to find out her name, but without success. I asked the client, saying it seemed odd not to give her a name, but the client refused to tell me. So, yes, I was and remain all the more intrigued.
How strange!
