I might send the odd e-card, but it's still a bit soon to be thinking about that yet....

I used to send X-mas cards to my biggest clients Dec 13, 2017

Then I changed to e-cards a couple of years ago.
But I realized that only about 50% even opened them.
I wonder if the PMs were told not to touch them, because it could be spam or worse.

I don't send out snail mail cards to anyone any more. After a certain age, one is forgiven for phasing out the niceties.

Everything is digital now anyway. Some of my clients send me a generic e-mail, and I do respond to those.

Hmm, not likely. Dec 13, 2017

An e-card maybe, but as far as presents go, I've always thought that it should be the other way around. They should be sending me something as a thanks for all the times I've got them out of hot water, done some little urgent job without charging, gone the extra miles, etc, etc.

Already sent Dec 13, 2017

I have already sent a few cards to my best clients by post - It would be a little late if I hadn't already. I didn't send any last year.

Obsolete practice Dec 13, 2017

Although it's a nice thing to do, this practice has become quite obsolete lately. The physical cards sent by courier were something special and showed you care for the people you sent card to. Virtual cards have no feeling, do not really mean you care, and you can send hundreds of them in a few minutes, which is what people are actually doing these days. So they are not as appreciated anymore.

I send e-cards Dec 13, 2017

A charity I support has reliable picture-only e-cards, and many of my clients seem to like them.

The choice of pictures is somewhat limited, more attractive some years than others, but the message gets through!

I only send paper cards to personal friends, and the postage is getting very exorbitant in Denmark, so I may cut down on those. This year I saved an enormous lot by sending them from the UK, especially as more than half of them were then inland first-class. It co

But I will be going up to Tokyo (I live in Kyoto) to see a couple of my best customers and talking about a few jobs finished recently and other incoming work. I will also be having a meeting with my worst customer, too, to sort out and clarify a few issues, entirely their fault, of course. We will either reach some kind of agreement or I will be 'letting them go.'
