Until the very end Nov 1, 2018

My jobs are usually quite long, so typically I have at least one carrying over into the next year.

I usually work all year round. Whenever there's work to be done, I'll do it. A couple of years ago one of my clients sent me something on Christmas Eve which I managed to do without missing out on anything else.

Eh? Nov 1, 2018

I love the idea of people knocking off for Christmas in November.

In memoriam
Until the BITTER end Nov 1, 2018

I work whenever work is available, unless I'm away, of course.
I intend to work until I drop. There's a codicil in my will reminding the undertaker to check that all work and invoices have been dispatched before he nails me down ...

Until late December Nov 1, 2018

My partner's workplace is closed between Christmas and New Year's Day. I work until his holidays start and we spend the holidays together.

As far as possible Nov 1, 2018

I like the idea of not having thoughts in my mind about the work I have still to finish during my Christmas vacation.
Obviously, if there is still some work to do, I'll do it anyway.

When the deductions hurt too much! Nov 1, 2018

The Danish pension system gives me a basic pension and a supplement. After that, I can earn a certain amount, and then they begin to reduce my supplement AND my husband's supplement by 16% each.
People with higher pensions don't get a supplement, so there are no deductions, but if I earn above about half a year's modest pay, the deductions start for both of us.
Of course, I pay normal Danish tax as well.

Altogether, with tax and deductions, I have to hand over 78% of wh

Altogether, with tax and deductions, I have to hand over 78% of what I earn. And at that point I can find other things to do with my time, so I have more or less knocked off for this year.

I started freelancing quite late in life (after retiring from an in-house job) and I intend to go until I drop. One of my daughters (my associate) has clear instructions on what to do in case of my death (my mother is 105 years old and if my genes keep their side of the bargain I reckon I have still a long time…).

I am sorry, I do not want to be rude, but when I read some polls, it seems that what is a job for me, is a hobby for someone else.
I work from 2 January to 31 December, I can take some hours off from 24 to 31 December, but sometimes I wake up at 5 am on 25 December to work if needed.
I work every day, and I take days off when I can (usually I try to concentrate my free time at weekends, when I can spend time with my family).

I work every day, and I take days off when I can (usually I try to concentrate my free time at weekends, when I can spend time with my family).

But really, reading something like "stop working at the end of November", leads me to ask some questions:

- do you live with your parents?
- do you have bills to pay?
- is "translating" a hobby or your job?
- do you have kids?

Have a nice working day you all...

Again?? Nov 1, 2018

The number of polls stimulating us to work LESS is amazing. Every week there is a new excuse not to work! Should I stop working to wait for Santa Claus? Is he going to pay my bills?

Polls ask if you have vacations, if you work on weekends, on your birthday, on mother's day, on valentine's day, in case of storm, if you have a cold...

How about finding reasons to organize yourself to be able to produce more and make more money?
