In the past, if working intensely on something, I may occasionally have found it harder to sleep or switch off, especially if I kept working into the wee small hours. However, it rarely happens nowadays.
(I hope I haven't jinxed myself by saying that...)

No, quite the opposite Mar 24, 2019

I’ve been extremely busy this month and this is the first weekend I’m kind of available (I still have a project that needs some editing), but yesterday I went to bed at 10:30pm and I wake up today at 9:00am… I feel like new today!

[Edited at 2019-03-24 10:54 GMT]

P.S. My days of working late into the night are long gone, I prefer getting up very early in the morning...

Yes, especially after having worked at night ... Mar 24, 2019

... and it's not about the blue light because I use inverted colours, so my computer screen is mostly black. I just can't wind down and keep on thinking about all those fabulous translation solutions

Yes I do find it difficult Mar 24, 2019

I find it extremely difficult to switch off at night if I have been working past 10, which frequently happens with rush projects. That's why I always plan to finish my 9pm... Rarely works out that way though.

Very rarely, I have to work in the first half of the day to help out with an urgent project, make up for a sick day or complete work that takes longer than I thought. On those days, my blood pressure and muscle tone don't even wake up, so I still fall into bed like overripe fruit from a tree - at 4 or 5PM. And still sleep until morning. What a waste.

Sleep? Mar 24, 2019

I am somewhat of a newbie to the translation business (barely over 2 years of experience), but lately I've had a huge increase in my workload and I'm doing a master's degree at the same time, so there is not much time for sleep.

At this point I can still keep up with a relentless schedule, but I'm looking forward to focusing exclusively on my work and having enough time to rest.

Yes, a bit Mar 24, 2019

I have no difficulty sleeping when I'm sleepy, which could be at 5:00 am. But whenever I exceed a certain limit, overworking during the day, I do have some trouble with images of my CAT coming to my head all night long, i.e. I keeep translating during the night. It could actually be called I sort of nightmare, because I don't really sleep as well or feel as good when I wake up, when this happens.

Yes, I'm Obsessive Mar 25, 2019

After a long day of working on one of my book translations, I will often obsess about certain passages that I might have had a bit of a struggle with, and think, with my head on the pillow, if it wouldn't be better to express a phrase or phrases in some alternative way.

And then I mull over all of the possible alternatives.

Also, late at night, I get excited and eager thinking about the next day's work, and that doesn't help me get to sleep either.

Also, late at night, I get excited and eager thinking about the next day's work, and that doesn't help me get to sleep either.

That has caused me to stay awake all night, at least in a couple of instances, and then I'm too tired and out of sorts to work at all the following day!

Other: Sometimes Mar 25, 2019

If I go straight to bed after working, it can cause me to sleep fitfully. I often dream that I'm translating or performing some other operation on the computer.

What's hardest for me is getting to sleep when I know I have to get up early in the morning.
