history feature is platinum only Dec 13, 2005

This poll really should be limited to plat only, as the feature is not available to others
I've answered 'no', but what do those no's mean? if they come from non-paying members...
Best regards,
Saskia

.... I guess it also means they don't intend going Plat sometime soon - but yes it does distort the data for this particular poll.

Why I said no... Dec 13, 2005

I have enough administration etc work to do without doing the History chart as well.

If people want to know more about me and my work etc, I am happy to provide them with references and/or my CV. They can see from my detailed profile if I am the right person for their job or not.

Of course, there is the argument of "well, if you have nothing to worry about, then you won't mind" . That's true. However, I don't want it becoming like the Blue Board where sometimes, thing

My 2 cents

I'd use it selectively Dec 13, 2005

I see it as a tool you can use to focus attention on your special fields. Where you have publications not easily accessible, for instance, it can be an aid.

Otherwise, it could get inordinately bulky after even just one year.

No time... Dec 13, 2005

I don't anticipate having time to use this tool.

Also, I hate to say it, but the kind of rates typically offered by clients looking for translators on Proz.com wouldn't justify the time spent for me.

I continue to support the site as a community and resource, but get virtually zero work here, so I'd rather spend time on the site in other ways (networking, etc.).

That said, it is a neat tool.

I suppose I'll go on using it - selectively Dec 13, 2005

Besides taking the time to insert significant projects from the last year in order to try out this new feature, I'm sure I will continue inserting projects once in a while whenever I feel this or that particular project would give strength to my profile.

I have only asked for feedback from clients for a few of the "older" projects, since I don't like to bother busy people now with having to recall some projects we finished maybe 6-12 months ago, for me they might be "significant", for them it's probably just a needle in the haystack. But for the future I intend to ask for feedback from clients whenever I insert a significant project. Maybe "significant projects" will be 4-5 in a year, but they will be the projects that confirm whatever I state in my profile.
As for the feedback I'm not sure how efficient it is. It's been a week since I entered my project and asked for feedback from a few outsourcers. I also sent an email to these explaining about this new feature and why they were asked for feedback on old projects. I have had confirmation that whenever they received request for feedback they would be happy to return positive comments. Nothing has happened so far, I'm not sure if they have received the request, they might have changed the e-mail address which is registered with ProZ.com, I wouldn't know.
So feedback on these projects is still "pending" for each of them, I don't know if that's such a good signal to send.

Since it's Beta, everything will certainly improve.
Easy does it.

I will use it selectively Dec 16, 2005

I tend to agee with parrot. Is best to be used selectively to highlighten some of your work otherwise it could become a bit... too much clutter
