Yes, but would like to redesign when I can. Dec 4, 2006

I have my own, self-designed website using the Proz.com hosting service. Although I think what I have done is quite sufficient, having a site professionally designed and published is on my marketing to-do list. My own design along with my Proz.com profile are doing the job for the moment, but I will invest in a new site when I am able to do so.

I'd be interested to hear why some people do not want their own website at all.

Unfortunately I do not have my webpage, yet. Dec 4, 2006

I think this is one of the most important points to be recognized and let people know about your translation skills.

On the other hand if you have your own webpage you can increase your businesses contacts and qualify for important jobs.
I mean, that is like your letter of presentation. For those who we do not have one, we must be very competitives.

Thank you!

I have a google page. I design it with google page creator. It's a user-friendly tool. You can design a websit online-What You See Is What You Get.

Yes - it's essential! Dec 4, 2006

I couldn't do without it and every mail I write has a link to it.

Not a proper one... Dec 4, 2006

I have a very basic few lines of text at my domain, but building (or having someone else build) a proper website is something that has been on my to-do list for 18 months - when will I ever get round to it?

My Proz profile and entries in various directories seem to take care of my online visibility, though.

I have 3 web pages Dec 4, 2006

However, I have never had any business through any of them, and can't take on new clients at the moment anyway. In other words, I don't want to advertise at present.

I carefully polished my web pages at the time, but I do not know who will ever see them. One is a dictionary site; it has a couple more visitors than the ordinary web pages, which have, according to statistics, none at all.

Yes and no Dec 4, 2006

Yes, I have, but it's not a page "for translations". I have a website for my writing and books things.

I used to have a "translation" website, but it was really useless and was eating more of my time than I had results. My profile page here on ProZ and other translators' community are enough

A website Dec 4, 2006

I have not just a web page, but a website with various sections.

When I'm not translating, I work on my website (or websites since I also have 5 more on different subjects) to improve it and to improve my HTML skills.

Not for the translation business Dec 4, 2006

I've had a personal web site since the mid 1990s. I started to design a separate site for the translation business a few years ago, but ended up just giving potential clients the link to my ProZ profile. It contains all the info they need. I still have a site for my side businesses (writing and lecturing).

I used to code pages manually in a text editor. These days I use Dreamweaver, which is a wonderful program.

Two websites for now Dec 4, 2006

I have two websites: one with resources for Spanish translation and the other for my own business called Pro Spanish Translation. I have had little time lately to make any improvements to them, but generally find the time to do so when business is slow.

I use SiteSpinner to edit my webpages and e-books, and find it very easy to use and get great results from it.

I have two websites (one for each related activity) and a blog that is common to both. Designing is a fun relaxation for me!

Website for my paintings / art projects Dec 5, 2006

Wonderful paintings, Riccardo!

I have a website for my translation work, just for the purpose to be 'present' (have never received any work through it).

I would like to have a website where I can show my paintings / art projects but somehow never seem to get round to it.

And I would like to learn more about (or get someone to do it for me) Search Engine Optimization, to get a better Google rating.
