Spanish term

aplicable sobre la parte de convenio

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) Company agreement
This is a company agreement to do with working hours, salaries, leave, bonuses, etc. for a company in Spain for a UK audience. This part sentence comes under the section entitled "Incremento Salarial" and under the sub-section "Cuantía".

The full sentence is as follows:

"Para el año 2014-2015, se establece un incremento salarial del 1% para cada uno de los dos años, incremento que será sustituido por el equivalente del *% de incremento salarial de convenio sectorial aplicable sobre la parte de convenio* una vez conocido el mismo y siempre que éste sea superior al 1%, quedando establecido que el 1% aplicado incluye cualquier posible regularización de tablas del convenio provincial."

This is what I've got so far:

"For the year 2014-2015, a salary increase of 1% is established for each of the two years, an increase that shall be replaced by the equivalent of the *% of sectoral agreement salary increase applicable to the part of the agreement* once it is known and provided that this is more than 1%, it being established that the 1% applied includes any possible standardisation of the provincial agreement tables."

I'm wondering whether "aplicable sobre la parte de convenio" is referring to an agreement or whether it means "applicable to the standard part", because the paragraph before this one ("Cambio Estructura Salarial") reads:

"El Salario Base de XXX quedará divido en 2 conceptos: - Salario convenio, según tablas del convenio sectorial. - Salario XXX (no absorbible ni compensable)".

In this paragraph, I've translated "salario convenio" as "standard salary", in line with an EN-ES glossary entry I found: http://www.proz.com/?sp=gloss/term&id=7715602.

However it does mention a "sectoral agreement" (unless this actually means "% of sectoral standard salary increase") so I'm really not sure.

I hope this is enough context and thanks in advance for any help!

forget the proz reference it is totally misleading

Salario convenio = salary under collective agreement.

This portion will be "absorbible" - ie will be absorbed by and not be in addition to the collective agreement amount

It really is not well expressed in the original. What they are doing is making a provisional increase until the sector collective agreement is known

so if the collective agreement provides for a 2% increase only 1% will be added later on

=
which will be replaced by the equivalent of the applicable sector collective agreement salary increase portion after it becomes known and provided it exceeds 1%

ie you will get 1% and more IF the coll. ag. provides for more

proz references can be a useful source if you are stuck but my field at least (legal) they are as likely to be wrong as right and need corroboration
