Checking account statement abbreviation
Hi all -
I am translating checking account statement from a bank in France.
There is a long list of transactions and among the ones that are credits you see
VIREMENT
VIREMENT PERMANENT
VES (which I take as Virement en espèces)
RCH
Next to each of the above are the amounts credited to the account (plus date and people's names)
I am not sure what RCH stands for.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

French term (edited):
RCH = Remise CHèque
Selected
cheque paid in / deposit
When we pay in a cheque, it appears on my bank statement as a 'remise de chèque', which would seem logical for the abbreviation you have and consistent with the fact it is being credited to the account.

Retrait Chèque
I would guess it could stand for retrait chèque = withdrawal by cheque. It is just a guess.

: Seems unlikely, inasmuch as we don't usually talk about a 'retrait' with a cheque — unless this is a counter cheque for a cash withdrawal? But Asker claims these are all credits to the account...

: a "withdrawal by cheque" would not be a credit to the account

Discussion
Looking at this document and two others like it, I see that RCH has no name associated with it unlike the other entries.
And, finally, I think you are right about VES being Versement en espèces. That only makes sense.
Grand merci! Michael
