you would be amazed at what the human body can get away with. I have personally taken care of pts identical to this pt. sometimes the surgery is not a TOTAL RESECTION but is a PARTIAL / SUBTOTAL RESECTION. In such cases, the few itsy bitsy cells left compensate to some degree - until some catastrophic event happens that upsets the delicate homeostasis.
