Danish term

kopiafgift

Danish to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) lease contract
These few paragraphs, completely out of context, appear to be part of a lease contract, presumably for a photocopier.
Example, as written in the text: Afgiften (Minimums kopiforbrug x kopiafgift pr. kopi) daekker alene betaling for brugsretten og almindelig service til det i denne aftale omhandlede udstyr.
Is 'kopiafgift' talking about the charge per copy taken, or is it referring to the rent for the machine (which I doubt, but I thought I'd better check opinions).

copy fee

I believe it's copy usage times copy fee per copy, i.e. for each copy. That's how I understand it.

copy charge

Copy charge - is another suggestion

This is a fee or charge levied on each copy made. Part of it goes to CopyDan, who then distribute the money to the holders of copyright as payment for the use of their work.

CopyDan
http://www.copydan.dk/Home_UK.aspx

-- calls it remuneration, and their English is pretty awful (partly machine translated?) with Danish syntax etc. But 'remuneration' on their website applies mostly to the payments made to the 'authors' - writers, artists etc. of the originals that are copied. The source of the money paid out is in fact this charge.

A charge or duty is also levied when empty CDs, tapes or DVDs are purchased, on the assumption that they will be used for making copies of music or other copyright material, whether this is in fact the case or not.

Photocopiers may have counters to keep track of the number of copies made - Copydan do not make many allowances for copies of internal material for backups etc. Then the charge is levied per copy.
