Discussion

Christine Andersen Sep 26, 2006:
I wondered if this was a kind of textured pattern in the knitting, but I was thinking of 'bobler', called 'blackberries, eg, in Aran knitting. There are some imaginative names of stitches, but there is no 'humørbombe' pattern in my knitting collection.

fun bobbles

This is a pun on the more common knitting term 'bomber' - the effect of incorporating little bumps on to the surface of a smooth piece of knitting. 'Humørbombe' means a jolly person, life and soul of the party etc. Here, I imagine the idea is to describe a humorous/fun effect. These links show what bobbles look like; hopefully, you've got a picture of the jacket to confirm that this is the same effect.
