I am currently working on a technical translation (assembling / adjusting fiber optic sensors), and am struggling with the above term (my Kluwer dictionary gives no suggestions).
There is very little context provided in the instructions unfortunately:
"Zet de Hex Keys aan de onderkant van het adjustment tool met de hand slepend vast, zodat de sensor houder nog kan bewegen."
Would "touch tighten" be an appropriate translation?
All suggestions welcome - KudoZ points will be awarded within 72 hours.
Many thanks,
Anne

'Finger tight' is probably what you're thinking of, but it not an exact translation (although it would probably be understood give that the text specifically says that the holder should still be free to move).
You could use a wording such as 'tighten the... just enough to obtain a sliding fit, so the sensor holder is still free to move'.
