Gezien de aanbiedingsperiode van deze cheque verstreken is en bijgevolg niet meer kan geïnd worden, dient u opdracht te geven aan de trekker van de cheque, zijnde de firma Alcan, om deze in verzet te laten plaatsen.
Zodra de cheque in verzet is geplaatst, kan de firma X opdracht geven aan de Bank om een nieuwe cheque voor hetzelfde bedrag aan te maken.

block a cheque (US: check)

Blocking a cheque means giving a bank formal instructions to not pay the cheque, which amounts to cancelling the cheque. That way the bank and the person issuing the cheque can delete the pending payment from their books and then (if necessary) issue a new cheque.
