Part of the sentenc reads: obtaining agglomerates using a bench scale sized Lödige CB mixer. What is meant here? Is reference being made here to a "bench mark" mixer, so that the results of the proces can be compared, or is a "bench scale sized Lödige CB mixer" a very particular apparatus?

I assume that what is meant here is a bench-scale sized mixer, meaning something like a 'tafelmixer'. If you look on the Loedige site you see that the CB mixers are huge industrial things and only the smallest version would fit on a workbench - but it is still not really small so I would not use "tafelmixer" in this context.
