"so there" is an expression used by a speaker (writer) to emphasize the point just made..."take it or leave it" "that's the way I see it and that's the way it is" "put that in your pipe and smoke it", in other words
In the context, writing can be "descriptive" (objective) or hypothesis-based (subjective), or putting it another way "all-about-it" = descriptive and "so-there" hypothesis...it's so because I said so.
The way I understand the passage, anyway. Good luck.

We can be forgiven for not being sure, because we haven't taken the course that explains what the terms mean! So there. :-)
In the context, writing can be "descriptive" (objective) or hypothesis-based (subjective), or putting it another way "all-about-it" = descriptive and "so-there" hypothesis...it's so because I said so.
