The idler shaft is a large diameter to tolerate maximum tipping loads, and is a uniform diameter to avoid stress concentration.
Shims between the idler bearing blocks and the crawler side frames provide for crawler track adjustment.
The front idler roller assemblies maintain alignment of the crawler tracks as they rotate from the top of the side frame to the lower rollers.
The rear idler roller bushings and thrust washers are grease lubricated.
