Para futebol brasileiro (soccer), concordo com você. Entretanto, a expressão "push the ball downfield" aplica-se ao futebol americano. Se fosse "kicked the ball downfield", então o soccer seria mais provável. Quem sabe o Salvador não possa esclarecer melhor qual é o esporte para que cheguemos a um consenso.
