Există vreo diferenţă între cargo shipper şi consigner/consignor? Traducerile găsite au fost cu expeditor, dar în acelaşi context nu au cum să aibă acelaşi sens.

Poate fi vorba atat de o persoana, cat si de o companie sau serviciu de expoeditii de marfa (de exemplu, FexEx este, printre altele, si cargo shipper).

Se pare ca e vorba de o insiruire de termeni cu continut foarte apropiat sau chiar sinonimi, ceea ce nu e asa de rar in actele juridice sau comerciale. Putem sa incercam o strategie asemanatoare in romana, de exemplu, firma de expeditii/ firma de shipping, expeditor etc., toti fiind termeni atestati in romana. Nu avem nevoie eventual decat de un dictionar de sinonime si/sau inspiratie!

The consignor, in a contract of carriage, is the person sending a shipment to be delivered whether by land, sea or air. Some carriers, such as national postal entities, use the term "sender" or "shipper" but in the event of a legal dispute the proper and technical term "consignor" will generally be used.
If Jones sends a widget to Smith via Fred's Delivery Service, Jones is the consignor and Smith is the consignee
