Use only recommended spark plugs, Champion RC12YC or Briggs and Stratton part number 491055. Check that the gap is correctly set to 0.020” for Home Generator Vanguard engine and 0.030” for Intek engines. If the gap is incorrect, use a wire gauge to set the spark plug gap. With engine stopped disconnect the ignition wires from the spark plugs and clean any debris from around spark plug. Remove spark plugs and inspect for wear or damage and replace if necessary. DO NOT blast clean. Torque to 180 in. lbs. (20 Nm)
