aged in barrique casks
The small oak casks are preferred when ageing more structured wines, such as Poggio Rosso (in a 500 lt tonneau) and Vigorello (in a 225 lt barique) where more vigorous micro-oxidation is needed in order to harmonise the greater richness of substances present in these wines.

barrique
[ba-REEK]
The term used in bordeaux to specify the 225-liter (almost 60-gallon) oak barrels that are used for storing and aging wine. It\'s similar in size to the pièce used in burgundy.
