French to English: Sample of Exemption from Seizure - Translation of section in a French Canadian will
Translation - English ARTICLE XIV EXEMPTION FROM SEIZURE
All the assets presently bequeathed, as well as those acquired in reinvestment, and the fruits and revenue therefrom are bequeathed as maintenance and shall be exempt from any debts whatsoever of my heirs unless they consent to make them non-exempt from seizure in whole or in part. This exemption from seizure is granted in order to preserve the object of bequests within the family and this for a duration of ten (10) years.

Translation - English ARTICLE V
I designate as personal representative of my estate my daughter Vicky PELLETIER, domiciled in Saint-Hubert (Quebec).
In the event of death, refusal, resignation or legal incapacity to act by my personal representative, I substitute my other daughter Christiane PELLETIER, domiciled in Montmagny (Quebec).
If it is impossible to provide for the replacement of my personal representative in the manner hereinbefore provided, my heirs will do so by a majority vote by notarial act en minute.
If my heirs fail to provide for the replacement of my personal representative, the court may appoint a replacement, at the request of any interested party.
ARTICLE VI
RESIGNATION
Even after having begun the liquidation, my personal representative may at any time resign his office provided that such resignation is made in notarial form and is accompanied by an accountability. The cost of the accountability shall be borne by the estate.
ARTICLE VII
ACCOUNTABILITY
My personal representative shall provide an accountability of his management at the times stipulated by law, by notarial deed en minute.
ARTICLE VIII
REIMBURSEMENT OF THE EXPENSES OF THE PERSONAL REPRESENTATIVE
My personal representative shall be entitled to the reimbursement of expenses, travel expenses and lost wages that he may incur in the settlement of my estate.
ARTICLE IX
DISTRIBUTION
My personal representative will have full authority to proceed to the distribution of my estate either in cash or in kind.
He may proceed alone to the composition, assessment and allocation of the lots on such terms as he deems fair and reasonable.
My personal representative may defer the distribution of all or certain assets of my estate if the proper functioning or the sound administration of my estate requires it.
ARTICLE X
ALIENATION
During his administration, my personal representative may, alone, alienate all my real and personal property for valuable consideration, encumber them with real rights or change their destination, and do any necessary or useful act, including any kind of investment.
He will not however be able to alienate an asset bequeathed as a special bequest to an heir who has reached the age of majority and is fully capable, in which case, he will perform the delivery of bequests as soon as it is conveniently possible for him to do so, subject to the provisions relating to the reduction of special bequests.
ARTICLE XI
FULL ADMINISTRATION
My personal representative shall be responsible for the full administration of the assets of my estate.

Experience
Years of experience: 21. Registered at ProZ.com: Oct 2015.
I have been working in French to English translations for over 10 years but not full time. For the last seven years, I have been a freelance translator specializing in legal translations, specifically in the area of Probate. My area of expertise extends to documents related to probate, namely wills, will verifications, funeral home certificates, death certificates, powers of attorney, divorces and powers of attorney in case of incapacity.
I had an opportunity to work on a large Pharmaceutical project which opened up my vocabulary in a whole new area. Now, I am entering the world of insurance and medical to add to my skill set.
When I lived in South Florida, I realized that the location, itself, provides a wide array of cultural diversity and many French Canadian snowbirds purchase homes in which to spend the winter. As the French and Haitian culture is well-represented, I have been lucky to have cut my teeth in the translation world in south Florida.
I love what I do and do and try my best to provide the best translation possible.
