Because I got sucked into a quagmire of a long-term project that took almost 2x to 3x as long as regular projects to finish, which prevented me from accepting other work.

God, I wish I could have seen this one coming. After almost 30 years of translating, this one took me by surprise -- there weren't any flashing red lights to see.

Felt like more, but actually the much the same Jan 13, 2013

This means that I took more strain to achieve the same. Which can only mean that I should try to rest more. I have implemented an active programme of rest for 2013. Who am I kidding? This is the first weekend in the last month which has been work-free...

I really am try to work "smarter", and relax more. We do determine our workload in many ways. How we manage it is entirely a different story!

slowed down Jan 13, 2013

since about late august, things have slowed down. Also, fewer translation but more editing jobs. I don't know if it's the economy, or jobs in my language pair...but the last quarter of the year was slow. Before that, it was really busy!

Ups and downs... Jan 13, 2013

Had quite a flurry of technical jobs before Christmas.. start to the year has been a bit quiet. But after 20 odd years, I've realised that it all averages out, so just enjoy the peace and quiet while you can - it will soon change!

The last few months have been pretty slow for us too, but it's picked back up dramatically over the past couple of weeks.

actually, in December I found a new client (through PROZ.com) and I did a flurry of jobs for them, including over Xmas. That was encouraging. It's been very quiet again at the start of the year, but that's to be expected.

The good thing is that I'll be getting paid for that December work very shortly!
