Like every year, let's celebrate International Translation Day with a TV event! Let's celebrate and recognize the crucial role translators play in facilitating communication and understanding between different cultures and languages. Let's promote the profession and highlight the importance of linguists in this growing world with diverse presentations from experts in the industry.
AI can’t really replace MT and that’s not what it is built to do. But AI can increase our productivity. In this presentation, we want to introduce you to Pastey, a smart translation companion app developed by ProZ.com. If you already know Pastey from previous presentations, you’ll be surprised about all the features and improvements we’ve baked into this little helper over the past months. Our aim is to reframe common conceptions about AI and show you how—when applied sensibly—it can help you save time and deliver better results.
Pastey is available to all ProZ.com users, and it’s forever free to our Premium members. Learn more about and download Pastey today at go.proz.com/pastey.
In this panel, we will explore the current landscape of gender equality within the language industry, examining both the progress made and the challenges that remain. The discussion will delve into the role the industry plays in promoting gender equality, from ensuring fair opportunities in recruitment and career development to fostering inclusive and supportive work environments.
Key topics will include strategies for women and men to support gender equality, actionable ways to overcome gender-based challenges, and insights into how the industry can create more equitable conditions in translation and interpreting. Our panelists, experts from diverse backgrounds, and active members of the ProZ.com Women in Translation initiative, will share their experiences and thoughts on building a future where the contributions of women are fully recognized and supported.
Join us for an engaging and insightful discussion on how the language industry can lead the way in achieving gender equality for all.
“Translating on the Move” invites you to look at your desk differently. It’s not just about swapping out your chair for a treadmill; it’s about making a positive change in how you work. In this presentation, we’ll talk about the real impact of sitting all day and how a walking desk can be a game-changer. You’ll learn how to mix walking with work to stay healthier and maybe even sharpen your focus for better translations.
Main topics covered by the presentation:
- Health Risks of a Sedentary Lifestyle.
- Introduction to Walking Desks
- Choosing the Right Equipment
- Ergonomic considerations for long-term use.
- Tips and layout ideas.
- Balancing walking and typing: what works best?
- Software and Tools: Applications that can help track your activity and health and productivity tools that complement the walking desk experience.
If you think that your everyday lifestyle may be too sedentary, or if you believe you could benefit from an improved fitness regime, I cordially invite you to this presentation. I hope that, along with the Q&A session afterward, it will give you at least some ideas for a healthier professional future.
