Also, do you know any other proofreading courses either in London or distance learning?

The other doubt I have is that these courses are all in English, but I will be offering my services as a Portuguese proofreader to the agencies. Do you think that if I do one of theses courses I can still "sell" myself as a Portuguese proofreader?
Does anyone know of any course to be a Portuguese proofreader?

I embarked on this course, I have to say I wasn't terrifically inspired by it, particularly the quality of the teaching materials supplied, and the rather "there you are, now get on with it" attitude. I also felt it was rather old-fashioned, and very much geared to paper editing for book publishing, and didn't have a great deal to offer me in terms of electronic publishing and proofing.

Circumstances overtook plans, I have been busily engaged in proof-reading every since, and never even bothered finishing the course... ▲ Collapse

I am interested in training to become a proof reader. Please can anyone advise which is more benefitial to do, a distance learning course or is it better to attend the more expensive seminars ? Jonathan
