My name is Mark Lepage ([email protected]), a Montrealer and also a New Yorker.

I am a writer and much-published journalist (Spin Magazine, Blender, National Post, Details Magazine, Time, Toro Magazine, Strut Magazine, En Route, Saturday Night, the Montreal Gazette, the Globe and Mail, etc). I am a rock critic, film and feature writer, and a former James Joyce scholar. As this would tend to indicate, I write English to a high standard, from the academic to the idiomatic to the demotic.
I am also an experienced French-English translator who has worked for the Festival International de Jazz de Montral (jazz music, concert staging), the Festival Montral en Lumire (restaurants, cuisine, wine, fireworks), Spectra Scene Productions, MasterCard and Ms. Magazine.
The Ms. Magazine piece was an article on civil war strife in the Congo. My extensive and ongoing work with the Festival International de Jazz de Montral, the worlds largest and most comprehensive, involves translating their annual artist catalogues (and, in significant places, rewriting them). I also translated Understand Your Diabetes, a 55,000 word manual, in summer 2004. As for deadline work, I once completed an 11,000-word technical Jazz Festival business document overnight. I have extensive experience in translating speeches for the president and vice-president of the Festival listed above.
My areas of expertise are: Music (all genres), film (all genres), television (all genres), literature, journalism, public relations, art, culture, advertising, sports (all professional sports), tourism, urban planning and management, general international politics, the military, diplomacy, general commercial, European/North American/Roman history, and current affairs. I work fast, and I am good.
