I am a native German speaker and dual national of Germany and the UK with the Institute of Linguists' Diploma in Translation and the Masters Degree in Applied Translation from the University of Exeter. I am also a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists.
Preparing for both of these qualifications, I have gained an insight into different fields of subjects such as computers, accounting, literature, telecommunications, business and general topics.
Since 2007, I have translated more than 1,300,000 words in various fields.
Depending on the complexity of the text, I usually charge £70 per 1000 words (0.09 Euro per word, 0.11 USD per word)
As I have been carrying out a lot of work for e.g. BMW, VW, Daimler/Mercedes and Siemens from German into English and I have been living in the UK for more than a third of my life, I feel confident that I can offer both language directions. All translations into English are proofread by a second pair of eyes, a native speaker educated to university level.
