Spanish term

ligeramente probable

Spanish to English Medical Medical: Pharmaceuticals
"Si la vacuna...no representan un riesgo, es **ligeramente probable** mas de 1 caso adicional/1 millon de personas vacunadas"

Does this mean "unlikely"? "Slightly probable" sounds horrible to me.

This is a taken from a detailed vaccine info sheet (target audience is clinicians).
Sidenote: "no representan" may be a typo - seems like it should read "representa", don't you think? Will check with client on that.

thanks in advance!

...more than 1 additional case would be slightly probable. IMO
Lydia De Jorge Aug 1, 2008:
Why does 'slightly probable' sound horrible to you? You could say 'there is a slight probability'. It does not however mean 'unlikely' which would mean 'improbable', and there is a slight probability.

slightly likely

Creo que "unlikely" sería "poco problable".

Slight Possibility

This is the meaning, and I think it sounds better than "slightly probable" in English (at least here in the USA).

slightly feasible / possible

I like them better, to avoid the cacophony with "likely".
