Spanish term

el contorno o los perfiles o la cara anterior

Spanish to English Social Sciences Archaeology
I hope it's okay that I'm asking these terms as a set. I'm at a complete loss here!!

I think they are talking about teeth, now you mention the fact Patricia and it would probably be the outline (profile sounds rather strange for teeth) and front of the teeth rather than foreface, do you HAVE to use all terms for it to make sense? What they are doing is changing the outline of the teeth really for social reasons aren't they?

They filed the teeth down with silex to change the shape it seems and thus adjusted the outline.
Note from asker:
Eileen, I thought it was talking about a point on the tooth? So, is it referring to the incision that is made? Sorry, I'm just lost ...
Peer comment(s):

agree Margarita Gonzalez : You are right, for social reasons but also for aesthetics. They altered both the outline and the face or foreface.

Thanks Marga
agree Richard McDorman : Yes, I think you are right. This is talking about the teeth, not the face.

outline/edges (contorno, perfiles) face (cara anterior)

That is, the edges were filed down, and lines were marked on the face of teeth. (cara anterior as opposed to cara posterior (back)

the contour and foreface

Contour is a term I've seen used in this context. Suerte.
