Spanish term

compartidor

Muchas gracias!

These would be importers and distributors but the writer probably wants to refer to the entire chain of business people in the importing country. When I had a little wine shop more than 15 years ago in the US, I had to pay 50% down almost 6 months in advance for some of the European wines I wanted (when it hadn't yet all been bottled and shipped) based a few tasting bottles. Obviously the distributer, and in turn the importer (in some cases the same company) had to pay the same stake and take the same risk that the wine would travel well. Examples: #

After rereading this and the other answers I see why Emma has offered "share": it fits with the sentence but I can't find a justification for the translation of compartidor as "share" or "market share". How about "stakeholder spread" as a 50/50 compromise?

shareholder

I think shareholder is correct although Im not sure why "accionistas" wasn't used.

share

i think its a very strange way of saying share (as in market share).
Normally of course it would be "cuota o participación de mercado".

"Share" fits perfectly in the context.
