Spanish to English Medical Medical (general) hemophilia treatment

An expert is giving a presentation about prophylactic treatment for patients with hemophilia (which requires self-administered injections of coagulation factor). He mentions that this prophylactic treatment can require at a minimum 180 injections per year. Then he says:


"¿Cuánto se puede llevar un paciente al año de chuzones, solo hablando de chuzones, ni siquiera de factor, sino de chuzones?"


I'm guessing this might refer to needles, needle pricks or needle sticks, but I'm not sure.

The speaker sounds Mexican, or possibly Colombian due to some references in the presentation. I'm not totally sure. The audience in this case are other health professionals that were attending a conference on hemophilia.
