Spanish term

SAS de acceso

entry airlock

In your context it's plural: entry airlocks.

As I indicated in my answer to the previous question Marie referred to, SAS, though it usually appears like this in capitals as if it were an acronym, is actually a French word, "sas", meaning a lock (esclusa) on a canal, an airtight/watertight chamber or an airlock. Here it clearly means an airlock.

"sas

SAS can also be an English acronym standing for surface air system, but that doesn't fit this context.

"Major construction in room next to personnel entry airlock (e.g., gowning). "
https://www.unicef.org/supply/files/Ian_Thrussell.pdf

"The non-standard installation is unusual in having two entry airlocks – one for personnel changing and one for raw material de-dusting – providing a further guard against cross-contamination as well as safeguarding the health and safety of staff. The air in the entry airlock undergoes separate two-stage filtration, passing through a primary filter and HEPA filter before recirculation."

agree Marie Wilson : Easier the second time round! //Not cheeky at all, context is different :-)

Thanks, Marie! A bit cheeky, perhaps, to reuse it, but as you said the context is very different this time. (I used to do translations on pharmaceutical production and I remember SAS came up a lot and clearly meant this, though I didn't know why.)

entry SAS [Secured Airlock System]

Entrance area:
To enable visitors and Delegation staff identification, a proper entrance area with an entry SAS (Secured Airlock System), a pre-SAS (pre-entrance check point) and reception must be constructed at the main entrance of the office building.

Also known as air locks, pass thru/through air locks -other than entry airlocks.

La transferencia de materiales hacia o
desde Zonas Limpias se realiza básicamen-

una esclusa como una sala interpuesta en-

sinónimos de SAS como Pass Thru, Pass

Pass thru air locks are for the transfer of parts and equipment in and out of a cleanroom.  They reduce the need for people to enter the cleanroom.

Peer comment(s):

¡Saludos!
