Spanish term
obturador giratorio
Spanish to English
Tech/Engineering
Manufacturing
Packaging
Hello everyone,
I'm translating a list of products for a plastic packaging manufacturer. All the items are containers for various food products and other powders such as talc. There is a type of lid/cap that I'm struggling with:
"Hay 3 modelos de tapas disponibles para utilizar con este envase: la referencia XXXX con un obturador giratorio..."
"Permite seleccionar distintas medidas y formas en los agujeros de salida para la dosificación del producto mediante una pieza giratoria llamada obturador que va montada a ella."
I believe that it's the kind of lid that you get for salt or the kind of parmesan that comes in a shaker, where you turn the top to reveal different sized openings. But a) I'm not 100% sure that it is this, and b) even if it is, I'm not sure what that's called in English.
Any guidance is appreciated!

twist-top sifter cap
Not sure if this is a standard term, as I found other variations, e.g., "screw sifter cap", "twist rotating closable sifter", etc., but something along those lines will probably do (preferably without such redundancies as "twist rotating").

rotating shaker lids
All the refs I looked had this type of top as 'shaker lid'. The on I am posting also refers to the lid as rotating.

Verdental Stainless Steel Dredge Salt/Sugar/Spice/Pepper Shaker Seasoning Cans with Rotating Cover
Not sure if this is standard either - "rotating cover" (Robert's suggestion is very good too). Includes the terms "shaker" with "rotating cover".
I am sure others will come up with more palatable terms, but just a starting point.
