functionally ready

就绪(Ready):当任务一旦建立,这个任务就处于就绪态准备运行。任务可以动态的被另一个程序建立,也可以在系统运行开始之前建立。通过调用OSTaskDel( )使任务返回到休眠态。就绪态的任务都放在就绪列表中。在任务调度时,指针OSTCBHighRdy指向优先级最高的就绪任务,也就是立刻就要运行的任务。
运行(Running):准备就绪的最高优先级的任务获得CPU的控制权,从而处于运行态。指针OSTCBCur指向正在运行的任务。

The AMD LANCE (Local Area Network Controller for Ethernet) was the original offering, and has since been replaced by the `PCnet-ISA' chip, otherwise known as the 79C960. Note that the name `LANCE' has stuck, and some people will refer to the new chip by the old name. `Functionally, it is equivalent to a NE1500. The register set is identical to the old LANCE with the 1500/2100 architecture additions. Older 1500/2100 drivers will work on the PCnet-ISA. The NE1500 and NE2100 architecture is basically the same. Initially Novell called it the 2100, but then tried to distinguish between coax and 10BASE-T cards. wait function

每個佔用 CPU 時間片 (time slice) 的進程 (program) 有三種狀態:就緒 (W = Wait)、運行 (R = Run)、完成 (F = Finish)。

"就緒函數" 是在某個時間片上 CPU 檢查就緒隊列 (Wait Array),調用此函數查驗就緒隊列首的進程,得出的值非 1 即 0;也就是,該進程是在就緒狀態或在完成狀態之下;如函數值為 1,即在就緒狀態下,則 CPU 會把該進程投入運行;時間片過去之後,其佔用 CPU 時間片數 +1,再調用 "就緒函數" 檢查其已佔用時間片數是否達到所需的時間片數;若數值為 1,則將該進程設為完成;若數值為 0,則將該進程優先順序 -1,再放回就緒隊列;CPU 如此周而復始處理列在就緒隊列裡的進程。

由於在一個 time slice 裡使用兩次就緒函數,稱之為 wait function 似乎比較中性、恰當。
