其本义仍是"相关性"，但一般“相关性”是统计学术语，用在此处容易混淆，且意思与此处该词所表达的“相关性”也不尽一致。此处所说，无非是很多工作都离不了它，所以意义重大。前面如无importance，译为“重要性”是不错的，既然前面已有，译为“意义”也不错，符合中文习惯表达。

: 好像怎说都行耶！地平兄，我今年主持过的问卷调查访谈中，每次都必须让受访者对每个问题提出该问题对他们的relevance。委托人要我翻译这个词，好让受访者明白要他们回答的是什么，我写“本问题与您的情况是否相干。”至今并没有受访者表示不懂的，即该问题对他们具有“意义”。//Relevance在调查结果进行评估时是作为“加权指数”之用的，它其实也只是一个量化的“几率”。比方前例中，受访者回答的只是“是否相干”，相干程度却不必说明。在提问者这个问题里，情况还蛮类似的，即“含糊”是也。所以我说，怎译都行。

: 好像怎说都行耶！我以前的东家跟我聊天时谈到“性、度、化”在中文里的问题，他原本主张尽量消除这三者的使用，不过听过我的解析后，他再也不坚持了。该性则性，而且要尽其本性；该度则度，而且要有凭有据；该化则化，而且不得食古不化。不过，作为一位权力不受监督节制的领导，高兴怎性、怎度、怎化都行。大众有权表示或不表示同意或不同意，提问者和领导有权决定采纳或不采纳，或甚至限制大众的权利。
