娘 and 爹 would be appropriate.
妈 and 爸 are somehow common.
Anyway, it depends upon the context.
It is in a poem, you need to adjust the metric with repetition or another technique.

In Taiwan, the babies would pronouce them as Nana and Yaya.
Or for the local families, Ama (阿妈) and Agong (阿公).
