通常不動産の売買は売買締結日から実際に物件の引渡しがされるまで時間がかかります。大きな物件であれば何ヶ月もかかることも。物件の所有権が決済日に移ることを考えると、Closeing date=受渡日という言い方ができます。

| Closing date in a real estate deal is more about when a buyer would take possession of the property. If it's a regular home purchase, I'd sign the contract on, say, Oct 1, 2009 with the closing date of Nov 1, 2009. So I sign the deal, but don't get the 'keys to the house' until Nov 1. |
