FMU jest dodatkowym regulatorem ciśnienia.

What is an FMU?
A fuel management unit is a fuel pressure regulator. The FMU works on fuel injected, supercharged engines using the factory electronic engine management system. When an engine is supercharged, the air delivered to it is greatly increased. For the engine to run properly and make max power, a 11.5:1 air/fuel ratio must be maintained. The factory electronic controller can't compensate for this increased flow (it wasn't designed for supercharger use) so another way was found to supply the additional fuel needed: the FMU.

Installed just down from the stock fuel pressure regulator, the FMU doesn't control fuel pressure until engine manifold pressure comes under boost from the supercharger. As the manifold pressure increases, a pressure line from the manifold to the FMU causes the FMU to increase the fuel injector rail pressure. The increased fuel pressure causes the injectors to deliver more fuel to the engine. With this system, the stock factory electronic controller can be used without modification on a supercharged engine with good results.

Nie wiem na ile ten tekst jest dokładny bo o FMU na pewno tu chodzi ale nie wiem czy czasem też nie o zwyczajny regulator wpięty w szynę paliwową i który ma odniesienia ciśnienia z dolotu.

Kiedyś pytałem o te kwestie jednego z tunerów i otrzymałem taką wiadomość

Ciśnienie 3bary będzie cały czas między listwą a wnętrzem kolektora ssącego.
Czyli w n/a przy podciśnieniu -0.5 w listwie będzie 2.5 ciśnienia bezwzględnego("atmosferyczny" 1bar pomijamy), przy wot ~0podciśnienia, a w listwie 3 bezwzględnego.

A w turbo przy podciśnieniu -0.5 w listwie będzie 2.5 ciśnienia bezwzględnego("atmosferyczny" 1bar pomijamy), przy wot x bar w dolocie, a w listwie 3+x.
Oczywiście jeśli układ ma ciśnienie nominalne 3bary, nie ma żadnego FMU, regulator ciśnienia paliwa jest zapięty do kolektora ssącego.

For boosted applications, because the numerical boost value is added on top of the base fuel pressure,it's vital that the pump delivers the necessary volume at the elevated fuel pressures. So while a pump puts out healthy numbers at 3 bar, if you're boosting 2 bar it needs to put out the necessary volume at 5 bar.
